Firemen’s carnival comes to Leechburg

The annual Leechburg Volunteer Fire Company carnival will be Tuesday through Saturday at the fire company grounds, 268 Canal St.

The carnival open at 6 p.m. nightly and there is no admission fee. There will be rides, games, quarter bingo and a nightly 50/50 and end-of-week grand prize. Rides tickets and all-night passes will be available. The firemen’s kitchen will be open.

Proceeds will be used toward the cost of the new pumper truck. For more information, visit leechburgco150.org.

Arts center to honor Arnold native Pat Rossi

New Kensington Arts Center, 950 Fifth Ave., will host a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in memory of the late Pat Rossi at the center.

A native of Arnold, Rossi graduated from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, and was a local teacher, piano instructor and founder of the Alle-Kiski Music Day Camp. She passed away Sept. 18, 2021.

The arts center gallery is open from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Participants sought for Apollo CROP Walk

Apollo Area Churches is seeking participants for the Diane Baer Memorial CROP Walk scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Oct. 2 on Roaring Run Trail, Kiski Township.

Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the trail. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Refreshments will be served afterward.

Free lunch offered Wednesday at Allegheny Valley Church of God

Allegheny Valley Church of God, 216 Catalpa St., New Kensington, will serve free grab-and-go lunches at noon Wednesday.
